Another day with my Boss who actively using Excel to analyze report and data presentation. His important data kept in the laptop and sync with the Onedrive. This time he facing a weird error that very annoying.
When open an Excel file from onedrive for business, my boss found the following error:
We can’t connect to ‘https…” Please make sure you’re using the correct web address
It’s soon followed by error:
Microsoft Excel cannot access the file ‘…..’There are several possible Reasons:
The file name or path does not exist
The file is being used by another program
The workbook you are trying to save has the same name as currently open workbook.
Solution:
When you found the below warning:
This workbook contains links to one or more external sources that could be unsafe. If you trust the links, update them to get the latest data. Otherwise, you can keep working with the data you have.
This error happens because the file he wants to open was linked to the other password protected excel files. If you still want to link and updated, you have to remove the password first.
Note:
Excel is our main program for reporting and daily activity, some times we use Powerpoint for presentation but we never use Word. We using Ms Outlook as well.
For certain department data processed by excel is huge some times more than 50,000 lines and of course with this big data on a file we are alot using formula to find, sort, and reporting the data.
Processing big data on excel requires powerful processor and enough RAM to make it run smoothly.
