Setting up is easy, after unboxing and powering, you will need to log in using existing Google account. When logged in successfully your computer will update the system and you will ready to use the Chromebook in 5 minutes. You can choose to view the demo video, this is important so you can efficiently use the Chromebook.
Start-Up and opening apps:
Waking up the laptop from sleep condition is fast only a few seconds (took about 2 seconds). To open an app need 1-2 seconds. The startup needs 3-4 seconds. This is much better than my previous laptop.
Look and Feel:
The top side layer using aluminum while the bottom is plastic. Very slim for me but slightly thicker at the end. It looks very modern and stylish for me but not with anyone because I see a better modern on some other model of laptops.
The screen resolution is 1920 x1080 clear, with a bezel border makes the screen larger. The screen is good at reducing glare as it has a matte finish.
Sound is loud enough for a small room but you may need an external speaker for a middle and large room, this is ok for me. The clarity and quality of sound are great. The sound comes from the bottom of the Chromebook. When using headphones the sound is even better.
The keyboard is backlit means it will easy to use and look beautiful in the dark as the keyboard’s luminosity. We can adjust the keyboard brightness by pressing ALT + Screen Brightness up and down depending on current light intensity in the room.
The keyboard layout is a bit different from my previous laptop but it’s better. I can adjust it quickly.
Battery life is excellent 8 -11 hours on normal use of internet surfing, streaming, word processor and spreadsheet.
No problem with buffering or delay when using streaming service. Just make sure you got fast enough internet speed but from Chromebook itself no problem.
Open 10 tabs when browsing the internet simultaneously is OK, no issues, no crashes. Still working smoothly.
Documents, Spreadsheets, Slides, etc:
For your office document activity, Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides will work fine with Ms office files. The applications are preloaded on the Chromebook. It means we can use it offline when no internet access available and this is great when we are working out off internet connection.
This is enough for me and for other people that use the computer for office activity.
Are you plan to switch from a PC to a Chromebook?
Give it a try like I did. You may afraid will regret this because of document compatibility and performance of PC. On the transition process, I can adjust and feel comfortable in 1-2 days and never look back.
